Diffusers are a great idea to add fragrance to your home. Reeds diffusers are one of the types of diffusers.
The way they work is that the reed absorbs the fragrance oil in which it is soaked and then disperses the perfume into the air using the process of evaporation. They do not require any energy source like heat or electricity for their functioning.
The diffusers are available in different sizes, but they are generally available in multiples of 100ml. The 100 ml diffuser will require about 3 to 5 drops of the fragrance oil as compared to the 500m diffuser which will require around 15-20 drops.
The way aroma diffusers work is by dispersing essential oils into the air which are inhaled and by people.
You can use Bay leaves, Rosemary and Oregano dried hisbs also instead of fragrance oils.
By diffusing the right oils one can create an anti-microbial and anti-bacterial environment that eradicates airborne bacteria. Diffusers also act as humidifiers which help in increasing your immunity to microbes. This is achieved by keeping airways moist.
The oils which can be used are given below
1. Almond Oil.
2. Jojoba Oil.
3. Apricot Kernel Oil.
4. Fractionated Coconut Oil.
5. Olive Oil.
6. Avocado Oil.
It is recommended using diffusers for 20 minutes for small and medium-size rooms.
Using diffusers for longer than the prescribed time could affect your health.
You can use a microfiber cloth or Q-tip to wipe away the excess liquid each time you use the diffuser. It is recommended you use alcohol for cleaning the equipment thoroughly once or twice a month.
You can use perfume or essential oils in a diffuser.
